My Dad, Benson Aboujafari is one of the best Horticulturist, Plant Scientist and a Plant Doctor in the Philippines.
He is the one who introduced this variety of mulberry which is the Super Fruit Illinois "everbearing" Mulberry here in the country.
This illinois mulberry is from the word itself, "illinois" which is from Illinois, USA. He acclimatized this plant to our tropical weather for it to survive.
It is called "Everbearing" because my Dad is not convinced that this mulberries can only bear fruit seasonally, that's why He researched and came up with the idea of Defoliating them.
Defoliation is the removal of every green parts of the plant by cutting them. By this method, our Mulberry Plants are not bearing fruit seasonally but every 60 DAYS! Imagine that!? You can pick Mulberry Fruits every 60 days!!! Is not that EVERYBEARING? 😁😁😁
By this process called Defoliation, after all of our mulberry fruits are picked, we start to cut/trim the leaves so that after 60 days, its leaves will then again flush out with fruits! 💗
Also, this mulberry plant is almost PEST FREE! We never put insecticides or any harmful pesticides to them. They are Super Organic that's why lovely birds are very attracted to them 😜 for the birds, we put NET around the plant for individual plants that bears fruit, for our mulberry farm we have a green house to protect them from birds.
Don't worry, we also have Mulberry Plants that are outside our greenhouse and is at the back of our farm, free from nets for the birds to eat them for Free 💞 Even birds go for Mulberry Picking. Isnt that lovely!? Haha!
We also sell Mulberry Plants for Only 150 pesos and is 5months to bear fruit, 250 pesos plants with fruits already, for a bigger options we have 500 pesos 5-6ft and 2,500 pesos for 6ft+ tall and is already have fruits. When Mulberry Plants started to bear fruit for the first time, this plant will now be able to produce fruits every 60 days by following our methods. 🌿
